Creep and crawl go the bugs across skin

Tiny feet pattering across legs, arms, chest, back

Nothing to be seen, but felt so strongly

Resist the urge to scratch, bite, pick

Clenching fists suppress the scream

Knowledge of falsehood fails

Fear remains of that unseen

Yet felt more and more

Fingers scratch at invisible creatures

Trying in vain to remove what isn’t there

But pick and scratch they will

Driven on by the ever increasing patter

Fear holds its grip on the heart

Fear of spiders

Fear of bugs

Fear of unknown

But I will not lose

I hold tight

Hold together

Resist, resist, resist

Finally, comes peace

The pattering dies away

Until another day
